How this calculator works
One property is priced as a job. A block is priced per flat for the handsets, plus a share of the door station and the riser cabling — which is why the cost per home falls as the block gets bigger.
Controlled doors are the third line and the one people forget. A block with one entrance and forty flats costs less than four flats with four separate doors.
Not included: the fire-alarm release interface (£150–£400 per door) and any making good where cable had to be surface-run through a finished communal hall.
