How this calculator works
Fitters price on unit count and days, not on what the kitchen cost. Eight units of £200 flat-pack and eight units of £2,000 rigid take about the same time to hang — though flat-pack adds assembly time if the fitter is building them.
The second question is the one that moves the number. Like-for-like is the cheapest fit there is. As soon as the sink, hob or waste moves you are paying an electrician and a plumber as well, and some of that work is notifiable.
Day rates for a sense check: a solo fitter is £180–£280 a day, a two-fitter team £300–£450. Multiply by the days in the estimate above and you should land in the same place.

Kitchen fitting calculator FAQs
Usually on paper, and it puts you in charge of the spec. The trade-off is that you own every problem: a missing panel or a damaged door is your delay, not the fitter's, and you are paying day rates while it is sorted.
Rarely all of it. Most kitchen fitters are carpenters. Moving a gas hob needs a Gas Safe engineer and new circuits need a Part P certificate — ask who is doing each and get the certificates.
Roughly £15–£35 per unit if the fitter assembles them, and it can add a day to the job. Some fitters price rigid-only for that reason.
The kitchen, the worktop material, appliances, flooring, tiling unless stated, and making good the walls. Get those listed explicitly rather than assumed.
