How this calculator works
A kitchen floor quote is a per-square-metre rate plus whatever the subfloor needs. The rate is easy to compare; the prep is where two quotes for the same room end up hundreds apart.
Porcelain over timber joists almost always needs a ply overlay or an uncoupling membrane, or the grout cracks within a year. If a quote for tile on a suspended floor has no prep line, ask why.
Under or around the units? Laying under is more material now and far less work later. Laying around is cheaper today and traps you into the same layout.

Yes. Modern glue-down LVT handles spills, dropped pans and dog claws better than most engineered wood, and it is warm underfoot. Its weakness is deep scratching from grit, so a mat at the door earns its keep.
Not structurally, but porcelain is cold without it and most people who skip it later regret it. It is a new circuit, so it is notifiable under Part P — budget for the certificate as well as the mat.
Because the floor is timber joists and you have chosen tile. Timber flexes, grout does not. Ply or an uncoupling membrane is what stops the joints cracking, and a quote without one on a suspended floor is a quote to do it twice.
