How this calculator works
Repairs are priced by the fault, because the part is most of the cost. The shutter type is applied as a multiplier rather than a fixed amount — a shopfront motor costs more than a domestic one, and so does the labour to reach it.
The out-of-hours premium is added flat, the way engineers charge it. A shutter stuck open is a security emergency and gets an emergency response; stuck shut is an access problem and can usually wait for normal hours at a lower price.
Worth asking: whether the control box and the motor limits have been checked before you agree to a new motor — it's a common misdiagnosis and a fraction of the cost of a replacement. The other judgement is repair versus replace: once the motor and the curtain both need work, or the curtain is corroding, a new shutter often costs less over the next few years and restarts the warranty.
