How this calculator works
The opening sets the base price, because the lath gauge, the barrel and the motor size all follow the width. Operation and lath type are then added per shutter.
Several shutters in one visit are cheaper per shutter, so a small volume discount is applied above one — capped at 12%, because the hardware does not get cheaper, only the set-up and delivery do.
Check first: what your council will consent on a shopfront. Solid external shutters are refused on a lot of high streets, and perforated or internal shutters price differently.

Not really — foam-filled laths are about noise, heat and rattle. If security is the point, ask about the lath gauge and the guide rails.
Very often. Many councils only consent perforated, open-lath or internally mounted shutters. In a conservation area assume you need consent.
Manual is fine up to roughly 2m and cheaper to buy and repair. Above that the curtain gets heavy enough that electric is the sensible answer.
