How this calculator works
Wrapping applies a vinyl film over the doors you already have. Nothing is replaced, so at £900–£2,500 it undercuts new doors (£1,000–£3,000) and a new kitchen (£5,000–£15,000+) — and it is the only one of the three that is finished in two or three days.
The catch is the surface. Film follows what is underneath: a swollen edge or a chip telegraphs straight through. On sound, smooth doors it looks genuinely convincing; on tired ones it looks like a wrapped tired kitchen.
Worktops: they can be wrapped, and it is the part that fails first. Heat and knives go through film. Treat a wrapped worktop as a two-to-three year fix, not a five-year one.

What changes a kitchen wrapping quote the most
Wrapping applies a vinyl film over your existing doors, drawer fronts and panels, so the price tracks the number of surfaces wrapped and their shape far more than the size of the room. Flat slab doors wrap quickly and cleanly; shaker frames, curved ends and tall end panels take longer and use more film, and that labour is most of the cost.
Preparation is where a wrap succeeds or fails. Every surface has to be cleaned, degreased and lightly abraded so the adhesive keys — skip that near a hob or kettle and the film lifts within months. A good film grade with a proper warranty costs more than a bargain roll and is worth it, because a failed wrap has to be stripped before anything else can be done.
Wrapping is the cheapest way to change a kitchen colour, but it is a finish, not a repair: it will not stiffen a sagging door or hide a swollen edge. If the doors themselves are past it, compare the cost of replacement doors instead.
