How this calculator works
A multi-split saves money against separate splits because one outdoor condenser serves every head — you pay for one compressor, one set of external brackets and one wall penetration rather than several. The saving grows with each room.
What it costs you is flexibility. On a standard domestic multi-split the heads share a mode, so everything is either cooling or heating. Independent room-by-room control means VRF, which is a different price bracket entirely.
On F-Gas: refrigerant work is legally restricted to F-Gas registered engineers. Ask to see the registration and verify it on the register yourself.

Beyond two rooms, usually yes — one condenser serves them all, so you save the cost of extra outdoor units and external penetrations. Pipe runs get longer, which offsets part of it.
Yes, each head has its own setpoint. What they cannot do on a standard multi-split is run different modes — all heads cool, or all heads heat. Mixed modes need VRF.
Domestic multi-splits typically take two to five. Beyond that, or across floors with long runs, expect a proposal for VRF or a second condenser.
Only if the condenser was specified with spare capacity and a port. Adding a head to a fully loaded condenser means replacing it, so say up front if you might extend.
