Solar Panel Cleaning Near Me: Cost & Who to Hire
Dirty panels lose output. In 2026, professional solar panel cleaning near you costs about £4-£15 per panel, or £60-£150 for a typical domestic visit covering a 8-16 panel array. Most UK homes only need a clean once or twice a year - more if you are near trees, farmland or the coast. This guide compares professional cleaning against DIY, explains what moves the price, and helps you find a vetted local specialist.

What Solar Panel Cleaning Costs Near You
Price depends on how many panels you have, roof height and pitch, and how the cleaner reaches the array. A pole-fed (reach-and-wash) clean from the ground is cheapest; anything needing scaffolding, a cherry picker or roof access costs more. Here is the 2026 breakdown.
Per-panel pricing (most common)
£4-£15 per panel. Cleaners quote per panel for larger arrays. A 10-panel system is often £60-£120 with pole-fed pure-water kit from the ground.
Flat visit / call-out rate
£60-£150 for a standard domestic visit. Some firms charge a fixed call-out that covers a typical roof array, with extras only for hard access.
Pole-fed pure-water (ground level)
Cheapest method. Deionised water and a telescopic brush reach most two-storey roofs with no marks or scaffolding. The default for UK domestic panels.
Roof access or high/steep roofs
Add £40-£150 if the cleaner needs a ladder, harness, cherry picker or tower. Three-storey, steep or awkward roofs push toward the top of the range.
Bird-mess & lichen removal
Heavy soiling, moss run-off or bird fouling can add a modest surcharge or a longer clean. Fitting bird-proofing (mesh skirts) is a separate job, roughly £200-£500.
Cleaning + inspection package
Many solar firms bundle a clean with a performance check for £90-£200 - they wash the panels and verify output, wiring and inverter status in one visit.
